So, next month I'll be traipsing across the country back to New York City where I was born and raised. I'll be attending a black tie wedding and I've been obsessed with what to wear. Just ask Christos--I've been pestering him for weeks. And here's the thing: while I certainly don't want to steal the bride's thunder, I still want to stand out in the crowd. So, I've decided that long for me is out. I don't think it's very modern plus, who wants to blend into the throng of dust-the-floor numbers? I'm thinking I'll choose a cocktail dress instead. They're so fresh and light and they give a gal a chance to show off her yoga-toned gams. I'm thinking something like this gorgeous concoction from Angel Sanchez. Sanchez, a Venezuelan bridal and evening wear dress designer, who's outfitted everyone from Gisele Bundchen to Iman, draws on his architectural background for design inspiration. This strapless confection from his Spring/Summer 2007 Evening Wear collection is the ultimate blend of structural sophistication with feminine and whimsical elements showcased with two multi-layered tiers of nude organza silk. It's perfect. So perfect in fact, that I'd rather share this discovery with you guys than selfishly hoard the find to myself. This particular dress was a sample and so does not have a size tag. I'd guess it's about a French 38/US 6 and is available at Decadestwo for $1850. And don't worry about me. I'll find something else. I'll can just keep bugging Christos . . .
